Tinkerbell's Fundraiser

 Everyone's favorite little happy, sassy and silly fox, Tinkerbell here! We, well I am not, you don't want me trying to construct anything, are building 10 new houses here at Walking Wild! These houses are for new friends, some that are already here in temporary spaces and some that are waiting to come. We have already purchased and had the lumber, insulation, wall panels and indoor portions for these houses delivered, but we still have one VERY important piece left to purchase, the wire fencing. We need close to 3,500 feet of wire to complete these 10 new houses and that is where I am asking for your help. To purchase that much wire costs close to $5,0000!!!! 

You might be wondering, why do I care about wire, well there are a few reasons. The first, is all about me. I sometimes enjoy making new friends, but unless it is a baby fox that I can play mom to, I would rather not welcome them into my house while dad builds them a house of their own. I like things just the way they are. I don't want any animal that needs help to be turned away, but I would rather them have their own space to go into rather than coming into mine. The second reason is that it will save more lives. I was in need of saving five years ago, and their was a space for me when I needed it. I want to be sure that other fox have that same opportunity to be safe and loved in a forever home here with us. And the third reason, I want to make mom smile. It has been a really hard year for her with my baby sister's cancer diagnosis, which led to her passing about a month ago. Mom could really use a smile and meeting this goal will help her do just that.

I would love to reach this goal lickety split, because we have a lot of human friends coming out next Saturday to help with projects and getting all this wire up while we have extra helpers would be amazing!! Did you know that we hammer in the wire staples by hand? We do this because we use a big and heavy staple to secure the wire so that everyone stays safe and sound in their space. Hammering in 3,500 feet of wire is a lot of work for dad, mom and our volunteers to do alone, so having these extra hands to help out, will make the project go so much faster and get all our new friends into their houses sooner.
